Apple Cider Buttons

Ingredients

• 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
• 6 tablespoons sugar
• 1 tablespoon instant hot apple cider mix
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon milk
• 1/4 cup sugar, for rolling

Directions

• Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with a Sil-Pat or parchment paper.
• In a large mixing bowl, beat together butter and 6 tablespoons sugar until light and creamy, about 2 minutes. Add cider mix and vanilla; mix to combine.
• In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add flour mixture to butter mixture; mix until almost combined. Add milk, and mix until dough just comes together.
• Portion dough by the tablespoonful and roll into balls. Roll each ball in sugar and place on baking sheet. Using the bottom of a drinking glass, press the cookies flat.
• Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are just beginning to brown. Remove from oven, let cool for 2 minutes on baking sheet, and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
