Bacon Cheese Appetizers

Ingredients

Meat
- 1 lb Bacon, crisp and crumbled fried

Condiments
- 1 cups Mayonnaise

Bread & Baked Goods
- 1 package Cocktail rye bread

Dairy
- 1 (8-oz. package Mozzarella cheese

Description

Whenever a recipe calls for bacon bits, instead of frying the slices of bacon whole and then crumbling, take several slices together and slice them into small pieces with scissors, and then fry. The pieces will separate when stirring and will be nice and crispy.

Ingredients

1 lb. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
1 (8-oz.) package shredded mozzarella cheese
1-1½ cups mayonnaise
1 package cocktail rye bread

Directions

Mix crumbled bacon, cheese and mayonnaise together. Spray baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Spoon 1 T. of mix on each slice of rye bread and place on baking sheet. Bake at 375 F until cheese starts browning. Serve immediately. Laura Hadt, St. John, Ind.
