  • 3 cups raw pinto beans
  • 9 cups water
  • ½ medium onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 large garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 and ½ tsp. salt

Directions

  • Sort through the pinto beans and remove any rocks or defective beans.
  • Rinse the beans thoroughly.
  • Add the water, beans, onion, and garlic clove in a 3-quart crockpot.
  • Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.
  • Add salt.
  • Serve immediately.
