I’m confused about the nutrition..would I mark off a green, red, yellow, and 1/2 blue? Or do I just measure it with a green cup and mark that I used red, yellow, and 1/2 blue?

hi you use the green for your serving size and mark off 1 red, 1 yellow, and 1/2 blue 🙂

This recipe was delish! It was my daughters favorite!

When do you add the peas and carrots? At the same time as the broccoli? When you return pasta to the pot?

same time as broccoli!

we don’t count any green containers at all for this recipe?

1 green!

How much chicken broth??

1/2 cup its in the recipe!:)

Hi, for some reason mine isn’t showing how much chicken 🙁 Thanks so much

i used 4 large chicken breast

If I use the zoodles could I measure a green container for them and a green container of the rest of it?

4 cups of cooked or uncooked pasta? And it doesn’t seem like there’s enough veggies in one serving to fill a green container

Hi for the nutrition, not sure, 1 put one green on my plate and it counts for 1 red, 1 green, 1 yellow , 2 tsp?? or 2 green is 1 red, 1 green, 1 yellow , 2 tsp,

This makes no sense if you use 1 green container to serve yourself the pasta there is no way you can count that serving as a whole green plus a red yellow half blue and a tsp that’s like saying a green container can hold over 2 cups of food. And it actually measure 1 cup

how can I print this recipe or any of your recipes for that matter? this looks so yummy. thanks

The recipe calls for 4 cups of pasta for 4 servings. Pasta is a yellow and yellow containers are 1/2 cup. So is each serving of this dish actually 2 yellows?

Great dish! Super simple and a delicious one pot wonder! I may add more veggies like peppers or spinach next time. This is definitely a keeper!

I have one question…how come in the picture it looks creamier…is there an ingredient missing in the list? Cause this looks delicious. I want to make it for dinner tonight.

nothing is missing! its delicious

Did we ever discern if this is 4c cooked pasta or dry pasta? And I agree, I do not have 1 green and one whole red in a the green container serving size.

This looks like a delicious recipe but the format and missing measurements of it make me question its validity and 21 day fix measurements.

Green peas count as a yellow, not a green, so I would skip those since you already have the pasta. According to the book, pasta should be measured cooked (same with oatmeal and rice, etc.). When making 21DF recipes like this, I would use the containers to measure the ingredients, then divide the entire dish by the number of people it is intended to serve. This recipe fudges the rules quite a bit. I would make some modifications.

Do you cook carrots first cause they wouldn’t cook enough in 4 mins right?

This serves way more than four people

Very good….but it was not creamy as shown in picture.

The whole recipe (serves 4) calls for 1 1/4 cup vegetables….that’s definitely only 1/4 green container and I agree with the 2 yellows. Sounds delish, but container counts are WAAAAY off

Looks awesome bit 1/2 cup broth didn’t seem like enough. Didn’t come out as creamy as yours looks. What made it thicken up?

To add some creaminess, it did help to stir in the cheese Rather than serve it on top. I also added a little of the pasta water as well and increased the veggies.

Looking forward to making this night! I applaud everyone’s desire to be precise on this program, but if the containers don’t seem right, just add extra veggies, or whatever. What I love about this recipe, is you can build on it. Thanks for giving us this idea 🙂

I thought this dish was horrible! It was not the least bit creamy as pictured, even when mixing the cheese directly in vs. sprinkling on top. There was absolutely no flavor, despite seasoning the chicken while grilling and adding some other spices to try and spruce it up. What a waste…

The picture looks exactly like the chicken alfredo stuff you get in the freezer section at your local grocery store.

Omg guys use your brains. If it makes no sense to you then figure it out yourselves. If this makes four servings, divide everything by 4 and do the math. If it does’t make sense then, adjust the recipe! This sounds like a great recipe and I am definitely going to give it a try. I hate seeing so much negativity!

Hi! I made this last night and Turned out good BUT I’m thinking the 4 cups pasta was maybe supposed to be after it’s cooked and not measured before ? I added a little more chicken broth and a little mozzarella. We liked it – was light but also filling. Oh and the carrots should be cooked first! :). I have several of your recipes saved and made many of them – all good!!!! Thank you 😋

Ingredients

  • 4 Pieces chicken breasts
  • 1 Cup small head of broccoli (or you can use 1 cup frozen)
  • 1/2 Cup Low sodium organic chicken broth
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 Piece garlic clove (thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Fresh parmesan (not kraft cheese)
  • 4 Cups whole wheat penne
  • Mrs Dash lemon pepper seasoning to taste
  • 1/4 Cup peas canned or frozen
  • 1/4 Cup carrots fresh tastes best

Directions

  • Cook pasta according to the package directions, adding the broccoli florets during the last 2 minutes of cooking. While pasta is cooking, season chicken breasts and grill until cooked through. Once cooked, cut up in to chunks and set aside. You can season with a little garlic and lemon. I used Mrs. Dashs salt-free Lemon Pepper Seasoning. Drain and return the pasta and broccoli, peas and carrots to the pot. Stir in the chicken broth, chicken, oil, garlic, salt, and pepper Cook over medium heat for about 4 minutes, tossing frequently until heated through. sprinkle cheese on top and serve
