Grandma's Best Sugar Cookies

  • 2 3/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 drops Food coloring
  • 1 9/16 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 3 tsp Vanilla

  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1/2 stick Butter, salted
  • 1/4 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Sour cream

Directions

• Cream together butter and sugar in a large bowl. Then add in two eggs.
• Next youre going to stir in the sour cream and vanilla.
• Lastly, youre going to sift together flour, baking soda, powder, and salt and then mix that into the wet ingredients.
• Place saran wrap around the bowl, place in the fridge, and let it chill for an hour.
• Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
• Once the mixture has chilled, scoop them onto a prepared baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven for 8 - 10 minutes.
• Remove from the oven and let rest for 2 minutes on the cookie sheet before transferring them to a cooling rack.
• Cream butter, using your stand mixture, for two minutes.
• Slowly add in powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract and salt.
• Beat until fluffy!
• Place sugar and food coloring into a jar and place lid on top.
• Shake for about a minute, or until the color has been evenly incorporated.
• Pour out onto tin foil and let dry for an hour.
• Store in a plastic baggie or an airtight container.
• Assembly the cookies and enjoy!
