  • 1 pork loin roast (about 2 pounds, unseasoned)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried chili flakes

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Pour the water into a roasting pan and place the pork loin in the center of the pan. Sprinkle the onions over the pork and allow some of the onion to fall into the water. Sprinkle the salt and pepper over the pork. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. In the meantime, whisk together the remaining ingredients and set aside. At the one hour mark, remove the pork from the oven and remove the foil. Using half of the sauce mixture, baste the pork. Return the pork to the oven for 30 minutes. Once again, remove the pork and baste with the remaining sauce mixture. Bake for an additional 30 minutes. Remove from oven. Allow pork to rest, covered with foil, for 10 minutes before slicing.
