Simple Homemade Hot Chocolate

  • 1/4 cup Baking cocoa
  • 5/8 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Marshmallows or sweetened whipped cream, Miniature
  • 1 Dash Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

• Dairy

  • 4 cups 2% or whole milk

• Liquids

  • 1/3 cup Water, HOT

Description

Ingredients

• ½ cup + 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
• ¼ cup baking cocoa
• Dash salt
• ⅓ cup hot water
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 4 cups 2 % or whole milk
• Miniature marshmallows or sweetened whipped cream (optional)

Directions

• In a medium saucepan combine sugar, cocoa and a dash of salt. Slowly stir in hot water. Cook over medium heat, continuing to stir, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil and stir for 2 minutes.
• Add milk and warm to desired temperature.
• Remove mixture from the heat and stir in vanilla.
• Optional: Beat with a milk frother until frothy.
• Top with marshmallows or whipped cream if desired.
