    • 250 g Berries, blue
    • 1/2 Lime, Juice of
  • Baking & Spices

    • 450 g All-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp Almond extract
    • 1 tsp Cinnamon, ground
    • 1 tbsp Corn starch
    • 1 cup Granulated sugar
    • 1 tsp Nutmeg, ground
    • 1 Pinch Salt
    • 6 Table spoons sugar
  • Dairy

    • 250 g Butter, unsalted

Directions

  • 1. Peel, core and diced apples and placed in a pan.
  • 2. Add lime juice, almond extract, sugar and corn starch.
  • 3. Mixed well and then cook on medium heat for about 5-10 minutes. Take off heat and add blueberries and let it cool for about 10-15mins while you make the topping
  • 4. Greased a casserole dish for any Pyrex dish then fill the bottom with apple-blueberries filling.
  • 5. In a food processor, add the flour and cold diced butter. Pulse until it resembles fine bread crumbs.
  • 6. Empty into a bowl and add sugar, salt and spices. Mix well with a spoon so that everything is evenly combined.
  • 7. Sprinkle over fruit filling about an 1inch and half thickness. Sprinkle some granulated sugar on top for extra crunch.
  • 8. Bake in preheated oven electric 175 degrees for about 30-35 minutes or until top is slightly brown.
  • 9. Carefully removed from oven and let cool down until it is warm enough to serve.
