1 qt (4 cups) fresh strawberries
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 lemon
1 qt (4 cups) fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
1/3 cup xylitol (or sugar)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup water

Directions

Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring strawberry sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly until sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.
Remove from heat and cool before using.

Serves: About 2 cups strawberry sauce
