Ingredients

  • 1 oz Shea Butter (certified organic shea butter)
  • 1 oz Beeswax (naturally derived, sustainably-sourced beeswax)
  • 1 oz Coconut Oil (raw, organic, hand-pressed coconut oil)
  • 1 tsp Honey (organic, raw honey)
  • 15-20 drops Lemon Balm Essential Oil (certified organic lemon balm EO)
  • Double-boiler (or 1 medium pot & 1 glass bowl to sit on top of the pot)
  • Water
  • Small Funnel (or pipettes, which are actually quite handy to keep around when DIYing!)
  • 20 (appx) Lip Balm Tubes (or small tins or glass jars)

Directions

  • Fill a medium pot about half full with tap water and place on the stove. Create a double boiler and place a smaller pot inside of the medium one. Turn on stovetop to medium high heat.
  • Add shea butter, beeswax, and coconut oil to the small pot and allow all ingredients to melt.
  • Once melted, turn off stovetop heat.
  • Whisk in raw honey and lemon balm EO.
  • Use a funnel to transfer hot lip balm into small chapstick tubes or tins. (I use a metal frosting tip!)
  • Allow lip balm to cool for 1 hours before use. Store in your purse, cupboard, or hide one in a drawer at work!
  • Serves: About 3 oz
