Easy Thumbprint Cookies for Santa

  • 1 tsp Almond extract
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

  • 2 sticks 1 cup butter

Ingredients

• 3/4 Cup granulated sugar
• 1 Cup butter {2 sticks}, softened
• 1 teaspoon almond extract
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 1/4 Cup all purpose flour
• Jam {I used Lingonberry, but any flavor works}

Directions

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees
• In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar, butter, and almond & vanilla extracts until creamy
• Add the flour a little at a time until mixed well
• Roll dough into 36 balls, about the size of a walnut
• Place 2 inches a part on a greased baking sheet
• Lightly press thumb into center of each cookie to make a small thumbprint
• Fill each thumbprint with jam
• Bake for 15 minutes or until sides of cookies are light brown
