Homemade Bentonite Pine Soap

  • 9 oz Coconut oil
  • 9 oz Olive oil
  • 1/4 oz Pine essential oil
  • 9 oz Pistachio oil

  • 2 tbs bentonite clay
  • 4.1 oz lye

Ingredients

• 9 oz pistachio oil
• 9 oz coconut oil
• 9 oz olive oil
• 9 oz water
• 4.1 oz lye
• 2 tbs bentonite clay
• .15 oz pine essential oil

Directions

• Melt your oils together in a large steel or glass pot/bowl/mixing cup.
• Prepare your lye solution by pouring your lye into your water. (Heatproof container!)
• Wait until the lye solution is around 130-140 degrees.
• Make sure your oils are heated to be around a similar temperature as your lye solution (Ideally within 10 degrees of each other)
• When the temperatures are right, pour your lye solution into your oils.
• Using a hand mixer, blend your mixture for several minutes until it comes to trace.
• Mix in your bentonite clay and your essential oil, blend well.
• Pour your mixture into your soap mold. (2 pound soap mold!)
• Let sit for 3-4 days then un-mold the soap and cut into bars, wearing gloves.
• Let your bars cure for 4-6 weeks. Check with pH liquid or strips to ensure your bars are neutral before using.
