Maple Bacon Candied Nuts

  • 1/2 cup Boss hog's hickory smoked maple bacon, cooked

  • 1 tbsp Butter, unsalted

Ingredients

• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp orange zest
• ¼ tsp cloves
• ¼ tsp salt
• 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
• 1 ½ cup mixed nuts
• 2 Tbsp dark brown sugar
• 1 ½ Tbsp water
• ½ Tbsp maple extract
• ¼ cup dried cranberries
• ½ cup Boss Hog’s Hickory Smoked Maple Bacon, cooked, finely chopped

Directions

• In a small bowl, mix cinnamon, orange zest, cloves and salt. Set aside.
• Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add spices and stir for about fifteen seconds. Add nuts and stir to coat. Mix in brown sugar, water, maple extract, cranberries and bacon. Cook for four to five minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning and to keep everything evenly coated. When nuts are glossy and there is very little liquid left, remove mixture from heat.
• Allow to cool completely before serving.
