    • 5 tbsp Maple syrup

    • 1 pinch Nutmeg
    • 1 pinch Salt

    • 5 thick slices Brioche, white
  • Dairy

    • 6 tbsp Butter
  • Beer, Wine & Liquor

    • 5 tbsp Brandy
    • 2/3 cup Eggnog

  • 5-6 thick slices of white, brioche, or challah bread, whole or cut in half
  • 2/3 cup eggnog
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 5 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 3-4 tablespoons brandy
  • pinch of salt (optional)

Directions

  • In a shallow plate combine the eggnog, egg yolks, brandy, and nutmeg. Slightly beat with a whisk.
  • In a skillet melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Dip the bread in the mixture. Fry one the skillet until nicely golden the flip to another side.
  • In a meanwhile, in a small saucepan melt together the butter and maple syrup over medium heat. Cook 2-3 minutes, occasionally stirring, until started to thicken. Add the brandy and salt (if using) and continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes. Off heat.
  • Serve the french toasts generously drizzled with the syrup.
