Old Fashioned Chocolate Caramel Turtle Fudge with Pecans

  • 1 package Semi sweet chocolate morsels

Description

Ingredients

• 1 package semi-sweet chocolate morsels (2 cups)
• 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
• 7 ounces (approximately 20) individually wrapped caramels
• 1 cup roughly chopped pecans, plus additional for topping (if desired)
• pinch salt
• 1 tablespoon butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

• Line the baking dish with aluminum foil and spray with baking spray. Set aside.
• Unwrap the caramels and set aside.
• Place the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in the saucepan.
• Melt the chocolate, stirring frequently, over medium low heat.
• Once melted and smooth, remove the chocolate from the heat.
• Stir the butter, vanilla, salt and pecans into the chocolate.
• When cooled slightly, but not yet firming, stir the caramels into the fudge.
• Add the fudge into the prepared baking dish and smooth the fudge evenly in the pan.
• Press additional pecans into the top of the fudge (if desired)
• Chill the fudge for at least 30 minutes.
• Use the foil to life the fudge out of the pan, peel back the foil and cut into squares.
