Peppermint Bark Recipe with Holiday Shapes

  • 12 oz Milk or semi sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 tsp Peppermint extract

Ingredients

• 12 ounces of milk or semi sweet chocolate morsels
• 12 ounces of white baking chocolate
• 2 tsp of coconut oil, divided
• 5-6 crushed candy canes
• 1 tsp peppermint extract

Directions

• Line a baking sheet with 2 pieces of parchment paper.
• Melt the dark chocolate and 1 tsp of coconut oil in the microwave for 1 minute, stir and heat in 20 second increments until the chocolate is smooth and creamy.
• Add a bit of chocolate on the corners between the parchment paper to hold them together.
• Spread the chocolate on the paper.
• Crush the candy canes with a heavy rolling pin, and sift to remove the powder.
• Melt the white chocolate, peppermint extract and 1 tsp of coconut oil in the microwave for 1 minute, stir and heat in 20 second increments until the chocolate is smooth and creamy.
• Spread the white chocolate on the dark and add the crushed peppermints.
• Cut shapes with holiday cookie cutters.
• Place in the fridge for at least 1 hour to set.
• Remove the holiday shapes and break up the rest of the peppermint bark. Enjoy
