Ingredients

• Semi-soft English Cheddar such as Cotswold
• Hard cheese such a manchego or an English bleu
• Good quality baked ham
• Prosciutto di Parma
• sliced salame
• optional: pate
• pickled gherkins and mushrooms
• nuts such as pistachios or marcona almonds
• medium boiled eggs
• slices of apple or pear
• crusty loaf of bread such as sourdough

Directions

• Arrange the cheeses, slices of meats and fruit on a platter. Place the pickles in a small bowl and the nuts scattered around on the platter.
• Right before serving boil your egg and carefully remove it from the shelf. Cut in half and arrange on the platter.
• Serve with slices of fresh bread.
