Red Wine Hot Fudge Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Golden syrup or light corn syrup

  • 6 oz Chocolate
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp Sea salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

  • 2 tbsp Butter, unsalted
  • 3/4 cup Heavy whipping cream

Description

Ingredients

• ¾ cup heavy whipping cream
• ¾ cup red wine (I used Apothic Crush)
• ¼ cup golden syrup or light corn syrup
• ¼ cup brown sugar
• ¼ cup cocoa powder
• ¼ teaspoon sea salt
• 6 ounces chopped chocolate, divided
• 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

• In a heavy saucepan, bring cream, wine, syrup, sugar, cocoa, salt, and half the chocolate to a boil over medium heat. Reduce to simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
• Remove from heat and stir in remaining chocolate, butter and vanilla; stir until smooth. Cool the sauce for 20-30 minutes to warm before serving, allowing it to thicken.
• Sauce keeps in fridge for 1-2 weeks. Reheat 10-15 seconds before serving so that it is thick but still pourable.
