  • 3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine
  • 2 cups, granulated sugar
  • 1 cup, packed light brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup, evaporated milk
  • 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.), HERSHEYS Kitchens Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 jar (7 oz.), marshmallow creme
  • 1 teaspoon, vanilla extract
  • 1 cup, finely chopped pecans, divided

Directions

  • Directions 1. Line 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan with foil, extending foil beyond pan edges. Remove wrappers from caramel candies; set aside. 2. Heat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and evaporated milk in large saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full, rolling boil. Reduce to low; continue cooking, stirring constantly, 4 to 5 minutes. 3. Remove from heat. Add chocolate chips, marshmallow creme and vanilla, stirring until chips are melted and mixture is smooth and blended. Set aside 1/4 cup chopped pecans; stir remaining 3/4 cup pecans into fudge. 4. Pour half of fudge (about 2-1/2 cups) into prepared pan, spreading evenly. Immediately lightly press caramel candies into top of fudge in 9 rows of 6 candies each. Carefully spread and press remaining fudge over caramel candies until candies are covered and top is smooth and uniform. Sprinkle reserved 1/4 cup pecan pieces over top of fudge, pressing in lightly. 5. Cool in refrigerator or at room temperature until fudge is set. Lift fudge from pan using foil as handles and place on cutting board. Cut into 1-inch squares. Store fudge in airtight container in cool, dry place. Makes about 120 (1 inch) squares or about 3-3/4 pounds fudge. Recipe created for The Hershey Company by Chef in Training.
