Ingredients

• 100 pounds of beef
• 9 pounds of salt
• 1 pint molasses
• 2 ounces black pepper
• 2 ounces salt peter

Directions

• Pack meat in a jar as tight as possible
• Dissolve the salt, molasses, pepper
• Pour over meat then cover well with boiling water put on a weight
• Cover to keep steam in 24 hours
