Salted Caramel Chocolate Sugar Cookie Bars

  • 1/4 cup Caramel ice cream topping, salted
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa powder, dark
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 3 1/2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Sea salt
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract

Directions

• Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Spray a 9x13 pan with non stick baking spray.
• Beat the butter and sugars until creamy. Add the egg, vanilla, and milk and beat again.
• Stir together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add to the butter mixture until a soft dough forms.
• Press the dough evenly in the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 14-15 minutes. Remove and cool completely.
• Beat the butter until creamy. Add the caramel and beat again.
• Add the powdered sugar and cream alternately until everything has been mixed in. Beat on high for 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy. Spread on top of the cooled bars. Sprinkle with sea salt, if desired. Cut into 24 bars. Store in a tightly sealed container.
