    • 1/2 tsp Pepper
    • 1 tbsp Sea salt
    • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • Oils & Vinegars

    • 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
    • 1 tbsp Coconut oil
  • Nuts & Seeds

    • 2 tbsp Coconut aminos
  • Dairy

    • 1 tsp Ghee
  • Liquids

    • 8 cups Water

  • 1 T coconut oil
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 4-5 lbs. whole pasture-raised chicken (remove neck and giblets)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 5 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 cups carrots, sliced
  • 3 cups celery, sliced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 T sea salt
  • 1/2 t pepper
  • 1 T apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 t turmeric
  • 2 t dried oregano,
  • 2 t dried thyme
  • 2 T coconut aminos
  • 1/8 t cayenne pepper (optional, helps to clear sinuses)
  • 1/2-1 t fresh grated ginger per bowl (not optional)
  • Garnish: fresh parsley, extra minced garlic

Directions

  • Turn your slow cooker on low and add the coconut oil and ghee to the bottom of the cooker. Add the whole chicken to the slow-cooker, along with onion, garlic, carrot, celery, bay leaves, salt, pepper, turmeric, ACV, oregano, thyme, coconut aminos, ginger and cayenne pepper. Cover with water. Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low about 7-8 hours, until the chicken is cooked and falling off the bone. Remove the chicken from the pot (be careful! it’s hot and the chicken should be falling apart). Once the chicken has cooled enough, remove the meat from the bones. Add the chicken meat back to the soup and stir. When you’re ready to eat, add soup to a bowl and more minced garlic and chopped fresh parsley on top.
