Ingredients

• 1 regular size box yellow cake mix
• 6 cups cold milk
• 3 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
• 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
• 1 jar caramel topping
• 1 1/4 cups toffee bits
• 2 cans (21 oz. each) apple pie filling
• 16 ounces frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions

• Bake the cake according to the box directions in two 9 inch round cake pans. Allow the cakes to cool completely. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, pudding mix, and apple pie spice for 2 minutes and then let it stand for another 2 minutes until the pudding is soft-set. Cut one of the cakes to fit nicely in the bottom of the trifle bowl and then poke holes throughout the cake with a wooden skewer. Pour 1/2 cup of caramel topping evenly over the entire surface of the cake. Then sprinkle with 1/2 cup of toffee bits and then cover with a layer of the pudding mixture. Next, spread one can of the apple pie filling over the pudding mixture and top with a layer of whipped topping. Using the remaining cake, repeat the layers and top with a drizzling of caramel and toffee bits. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Enjoy!
