Apple Pecan Cream Cheese Tart is a delicious combination of apple pie and cheesecake. Such a lovely dessert!

Ingredients

  • 7 ounces graham cracker crumbs (about 1 & 3/4 cups)
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 medium apples, sliced*
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans

Directions

  • To make the crust: Preheat oven to 425°F. Combine graham cracker crumbs, butter, and brown sugar until thoroughly combined. Press into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom or a 9-inch pie pan. Refrigerate the crust while you make the filling. To make the filling: Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the cream cheese and brown sugar until thoroughly combined and smooth. Mix in the egg and vanilla. Spread the filling evenly in the chilled crust. To make the topping: Place the sliced apples in a bowl. Sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon, and stir to coat. Arrange the apple slices as desired on top of the cream cheese filling.** Sprinkle the pecans on top of the apples. Bake for 10 minutes. Decrease the oven temperature to 375°F. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until set. Cool the tart to room temperature on a wire rack. Cover and chill at least 3 hours before serving.
