Description
I’m a wife, a mom, and a dessert blogger at Crazy for Crust. Oh, and I’m addicted to crust. And cookies. And cake. Well, pretty much I’m addicted to sugar. (I’m also addicted to books, reality television, Gilmore Girls, talking, and Instagram. But that’s another story.) I’m in my kitchen daily baking up crazy goodies and then I blog about them, with a slice of my life. Enjoy!
Needs to cook for at least double the time for the brown sugar and butter to caramelize and hold the bread together. I substituted pecans and macadamia nuts for the walnuts and added unsweetened coconut to make it more Hawaiian. Next time I will reduce the sugar. With the buns already sweet I dont think you need all the additional sugar.
i have made monkey bread for years,i would def. eliminate the egg, never heard of that and i never timed it i did bake at 350,also you do not need lots of butter i love cinnamon and as a diabetic its really good for you,i always added some times measuring is not always full proof adding or own flare is never bad as you know what you like,i have also used pecans instead of walnuts....i have never used the hawaiian rolls but i love them i was curious of the ingredients its really great with canned biscuits..j/s..good luck ev1..and t.y. for reading my input lol.
Very soggy...not firm..fell apart..needs more bread for sure. Followed the recipe dont know what happened...
this is the amazing recipe we love it
I made these a few times. The first time the bread would not hold together. The second time I added an extra egg and that helped. The last time I also added two more tablespoons of butter (I know!) I also cooked for an extra 5-7 minutes. It came out of my bundt pan in a perfect ring and it held together.
I loved this recipe!!!! Fantastic! But, next time, I will omit the egg and use 2 T melted butter instead. Because the egg did not cook all the way through to the bottom.
I cut the bread with a knife to make bite-size pieces. And, once baked, those pieces didn't hold together for me. I added cloves, ginger, and nutmeg to increase the Christmas flavor. Also, made a caramel drizzle. It was delicious and I'd make it again, but it was more like a pile of cinnamon bites.
This wasn't my favorite. I love sweets, but this had too much sugar and not enough moisture in the bread. I'm going to try using kings Hawaiian rolls in another recipe that I have - Paula Deen's French toast casserole.
My batch did not hold together either, but that should not deter anyone from making this delicious recipe!
My batch did not hold together, or the shape of the bundt pan, after cooling and taking out of the pan. I would appreciate suggestions/advice, thanks.
This is the most amazing recipe ever!
There is no way this is just going to be a Christmas morning surprise. This is the most amazing delicious recipe....of course King's Hawaiian is the main ingredient!!!
We know the cinnamon is ommitted, and 1 teaspoon chopped walnuts just doesn't sound right - perhaps it's 1 teaspon of the cinnamon? and walnuts to taste?
