Fluffy macaron frosting

  • 6 cups Powdered sugar

  • 1/4 cup Whole milk

Ingredients

• 2 sticks butter, softened
• 6 cups powdered sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 cup whole milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 12 store-bought macarons, frozen, any flavor

Directions

• In a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, add butter and beat on high for 4 minutes, scraping the bowl once light and fluffy.
• Add powdered sugar, salt, milk, and vanilla to mixer and mix on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase speed to high until frosting is smooth.
• Add 4 frozen macarons at a time to a food processor and pulse until crumbs form. Its important that the macarons are frozen so the food processor just mashes them up and forms a paste, instead of crumbs.
• Fold macaron crumbs into frosting (you can use any flavor macaron you’d like! I used strawberry champagne from Nugget Market).
• Sprinkle with additional macaron crumbs if desired.
