Description

Fresh citrus, ginger, and sesame oil are a great marinade for ahi tuna tartare. Serve with avocado and green onions as an appetizer, or a main meal!

Ingredients

  • ½ Pound Sushi grade ahi tuna
  • 1½ Teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 Inch ginger, grated
  • 1 Small orange, zested
  • ¼ Teaspoon Salt and pepper
  • 2 Green onions, thinly sliced
  • ½ Lemon, juiced
  • 1 Avocado, thinly sliced

Directions

  • Hand wash ahi tuna in cold water and dry with a paper towel. Cut into 1/4 inch cubes and put in a bowl. Add salt, pepper, and sesame oil.
  • Grate ginger, zest orange, and thinly slice green onions (save some to garnish). Add ingredients to the bowl and combine. Refrigerate for 15-30 min.
  • Thinly slice avocado. Spoon ahi tuna on top, add more green onions and garnish with sesame seeds. Squeeze lemon juice on top and serve!
