Good Ol' Hotdog Chili

  • 1 lb Ground beef or ground turkey

• Produce

  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp Oregano

• Canned Goods

  • 1 cup Beef broth

• Condiments

  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 3/4 cup Tomato sauce, unsalted

• Baking & Spices

  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Ingredients

• 1lb ground beef or ground turkey (I used turkey)
• 1 cup beef broth, divided
• 1 tablespoon chili powder
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• ½ teaspoon onion powder
• ½ teaspoon black pepper
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• ¼ teaspoon oregano
• ½ cup ketchup
• ¾ cup tomato sauce (unsalted)

Directions

• Add ground turkey or beef to a pan, with a little oil and cook until almost done.
• Drain.
• Add in ⅓ cup of broth.
• Mix together the spices and sprinkle evenly over the meat.
• Mix together until spices are well distributed and broth is absorbed.
• Mix in ketchup & tomato sauce
• Add in the rest of the broth (may not need all of broth but you will need enough to simmer the chili)
• Bring to a boil.
• Reduce heat, cover and let chili simmer for about 15 minutes.
• Taste & season to your liking (I always add in more chili powder, black pepper , onion powder & garlic powder)
