This kicked up Guinness Chili is perfect for St. Patricks Day, and a great way to warm up on a cold winter night.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Pounds grass-fed 80% ground beef
  • 1 11.2 oz bottle Guinness Draught*
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup yellow onions (diced)
  • 1 15oz can red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 15oz can white kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes (or diced)
  • 2 Cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 2 Tablespoons ground cumin
  • 1 - 2 Tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 Tablespoon chipotle chili powder
  • 1 Tablespoon organic brown sugar
  • sour cream and shredded cheese (optional)

Directions

  • Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 3 - 4 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef and garlic. Cook until meat is no longer pink.
  • Add cumin, chili powders, tomatoes, and beans.
  • Add the GuinnessĀ® and brown sugar, stir
  • Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Serve garnished with sour cream/ Greek yogurt, shredded cheese, and green onions {if desired}
  • Serve with sour cream / Greek yogurt and shredded cheese if desired.
