Homemade Chocolate Toffee

Description

Ingredients

• 2 cups plus 2 teaspoons butter, divided
• 2 cups sugar
• ¼ cup water
• 1½ cups milk chocolate chips
• *Optional* 1½ cups finely chopped pecans

Directions

• Grease a parchment paper lined 15x10 baking sheet with 2 teaspoons butter.
• In a large, heavy bottom pot, melt remaining butter over medium heat.
• Add sugar and water to the butter. Continue cooking over medium heat and stir continuously until a candy thermometer reaches 300 (hard crack stage).
• Quickly pour onto prepared baking sheet.
• Immediately sprinkle chocolate chip on top to melt. When they become soft, you can spread them evenly over the top. Sprinkle pecans, if desired.
• Let stand to cool and harden for at least 1 hour.
• Enjoy (and try not to eat it all at once!)
