    • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
    • 2 tsp Parsley, dried
  • Baking & Spices

    • 2 tsp Baking powder
    • 1/2 tsp Black pepper, freshly ground
    • 1 cup Fava/chickpea flour
    • 1 tsp Kosher or sea salt
  • Oils & Vinegars

    • 1 Oil
  • Nuts & Seeds

    • 1 tsp Cumin

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (142 g) fava/chickpea flour (ground at about 6 clicks to the left of center)
  • 1 tsp kosher or sea salt
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • oil for frying

Directions

  • Mix all ingredients together and keep sealed in container or plastic bag until ready to use.
  • Add 4 ounces of water to the mixture of dry ingredients. Allow to rest for 10 to 20 minutes before forming into patties or balls.
  • Fry in heated oil for about 3 to 4 minutes until lightly browned. Drain on paper towel.
  • Serve as desired. I like to eat them in a pita with tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato and sliced cucumber. Theyre also great as appetizers served with a bleu cheese dip (recipe to come).
