A Maple Old Fashioned is a variation on the classic Old Fashioned from the 1800s. The maple version is smooth, with the subtle flavors of maple and orange, and served on the rocks.

Ingredients

2 ounces bourbon (I used Makers Mark.)
1 ounce good maple syrup
1/2 ounce orange juice
dash or two of Angostura bitters

Directions

Place all ingredients in a drink shaker with ice.
Shake lightly to mix.
Place additional ice in a glass and pour Maple Old Fashioned over ice.
Garnish with an orange wedge, cherries, or orange zest.
