Description

Typical Japanese street food is easier to make at home than you think.

Directions

  • Mix the okonomiyaki flour and water together in a smooth batter. Add the beaten egg and mix.
  • Stir in the cabbage and cooked pork.
  • In a frypan, heat the vegetable oil until very hot.
  • Spread the batter mix over the frypan in a flat, thick pancake and cook until the bottom is golden.
  • To turn the pancake, I place a large frying pan lid over the frypan and flip it, then I carefully slide it back into the pan and cook it through.
  • Serve topped with okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, bonito flakes and seaweed. Itadakimasu!
