Old Fashioned Cocktail

  • 1 Orange peel

• Baking & Spices

  • 1/4 oz Simple syrup or 1 sugar cube

• Desserts

  • 1 Maraschino cherry

• Beer, Wine & Liquor

  • 3 dashes Angostura or orange bitters
  • 2 oz Bourbon or whiskey

Ingredients

• 2 ounces bourbon or whiskey
• ¼ ounce simple syrup or 1 sugar cube
• 3-4 dashes Angostura bitters
• 1 orange peel
• 1 Maraschino cherry (optional)

Directions

• In a pint glass, combine simple syrup, bitters, and bourbon. Fill glass halfway with ice, then stir vigorously about a dozen times.
• Strain into an old-fashioned glass over fresh ice.
• Squeeze orange peel over glass to extract oils, add peel to glass and garnish with cherry if desired.
