Youre craving fries, but dont want all the extra calories brought along by deep frying. Have no fear, these fries are baked! With just a touch of oil to crisp them up and a homemade spice mix to make them zesty, these fries will fulfill your cravings and not destroy your diet.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 russet potatoes

Directions

  • Scrub your potatoes and slice them into strips. Place them in a pot of hot water for twenty minutes. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. In a small bowl combine all of the spices to make the spice mix. Place the potatoes in a large bowl. Drizzle about 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle some of the spice mix over the potatoes and then dry rub. toss the potatoes, and then repeat the process until all of the oil and spice mix are coating the potatoes.Lay out your fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Keep the bowl the potatoes were in with any excess oil and spices. Bake for 20 minutes, then brush the extra oil and spices onto the top side of the fries. Then flip the fries and brush the rest of the oil and spices onto the other side. Bake for another 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven when the fries are golden and tender and serve immediately.
