I found this recipe more than five years ago and have been making it for family gatherings ever since. The coffee-flavored frosting complements the moist banana cake. —Kathy Hoffman, Topton, Pennsylvania
I use cream cheese frosting on this cake. Very good! A burnt sugar frosting works well also. I bake in jelly roll pan for approximately 20 minutes.
Excellent! My husband who usually doesnt eat cake had 2 pieces tonite!
This is an amazing recipe. I have been searching and searching for a potluck banana cake recipe and this version keeps popping up. Well. I finally made it and wow! This will be my go to recipe. I put it in a bundt cake pan on 350 for 50 minutes. No frosting needed.
This cake was really easy to put together and was a hit with everyone. We really liked the frosting. I did use brewed espresso instead of instant coffee granules. Its a great way to use up bananas that are starting to brown. One of my children isnt a fan of bananas, but said this cake was good.
This dessert is a GAME CHANGER for any potluck, office party, family event, holiday, or any day of the week. Delicious! The frosting is good, but sometimes I just opt for a Nutella spread on top if Im too lazy to make my own. This recipe is definitely a keeper!
Just like Mom used to make! This was a family favorite back in the 1960s. I was delighted to find this recipe and try it out on my own family. It was a hit!
The only thing Id change would be to use 2-3 tablespoons of fresh brewed strong coffee instead of instant. The coffee flavor is more than just a hint, so prepare for coffee lovers! I also think that a cream cheese frosting base with coffee flavor would be excellent . I want to try that next time I make this.
Super quick. Super easy. Super good..!!
I have made this cake several times. My family said this is awesome. I make the frosting different. My daughter cannot have milk. I use stick of butter, vanillA extract, powdered sugar and marshmallow fluff. Excellent. Love this cake.
There was no liquid in this recipe and it was flat, gummy and more like a cookie after it cooked. I will never try this again. Probably needed a cup of water or milk.
