Russian Apple Pie

  • 1 Pinch Cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 lb Flour
  • 3/4 lbs Sugar

  • 1/4 lb Hazelnuts or almonds

  • 1/2 lbs Butter

• Beer, Wine & Liquor

  • 1 shot Rum

• Other

  • 1 T Backing Powder

Ingredients

• 0.5 lbs/250 g Butter
• 0.75 lbs/375 g Sugar
• 4 Eggs
• 0.5 lbs./250 g Flour
• 1 T Backing Powder
• 0.25 lbs./125 g chopped Hazelnuts or Almonds
• Pinch of Cinnamon
• 2 T cocoa powder
• 4 big apples (or 5 small)
• 1 shot rum (optional)

Directions

• First, peel the apples, cut out the core and slice thinly. Put the apple slices into a bowl and sprinkle with cinnamon, 2 T sugar and if you like a shot of rum (the alcohol will evaporate while the pie is baking). Mix all ingredients in the bowl and let sit for 15 minutes.
• Add the rest of the ingredients in a second mixing bowl and use a hand blender to blend the dough.
• After you are done blending and your apples were soaking in the cinnamon-sugar-rum mix, add the apples into the second bowl with the dough and mix together.
• Transfer your dough into the ?silicone pie baking pan and bake it in the oven for 1h on 360 F/ 180C.
