Description

family dinner made easy

You can use all chocolate sprinkles for the outside football coating if you want. The crushed peanuts compliment the Snickers Peanut Butter candy bars really well. Its easier to coat the football in the sprinkle/peanut mixture before refrigerating because the dough is still slightly wet and sticky and the coating adheres better.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 a stick) butter, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup quick oats [1-minute]
  • 1 cup crushed Snickers Peanut Butter candy bars
  • 1/4 cup crushed unsalted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles
  • White frosting gel

Directions

  • Combine butter, cream cheese, and peanut butter into a mixing bowl or bowl of a stand mixer. Beat until creamy and combined.
  • Add in vanilla and brown sugar. Blend together.
  • Add in powdered sugar. Blend together until creamy and combined. It will be dry at first but keep blending until it is creamy comes together.
  • Mix in the oats and crushed candy bars with a wooden spoon.
  • On a counter top lay two squares of plastic wrap to make a + sign (one piece vertical, other piece horizontal). Place the cookie dough in the center. Form into a football shape.
  • Mix crushed peanuts and chocolate sprinkles in a bowl and pour over the football shaped dough. Spread them around and pat them into the football shape with your hands. You can also use the sides of the plastic wrap to get the mixture on the sides of the football.
  • Pick up the plastic wrap (with football dough inside) and place on a plate. Put the plate in the fridge and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
  • Take out of fridge and gently pick up the football (it will be firm enough from the fridge time) and place on your serving plate.
  • Use the white frosting gel (found by candles and sprinkles of the baking aisle) to make the football laces in the middle and sides.
  • Serve with pretzels. Refrigerate leftovers.
