Soft Cut Out Sugar Cookie

  • 1 Eggs

• Baking & Spices

  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Cloves, ground
  • 3 1/4 cups Flour
  • 3 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Shortening
  • 1 cups Sugar
  • 4 tsp Vanilla

• Dairy

  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt, Plain

Ingredients

• 3 1/4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 cups sugar
• 1 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 cup plain yogurt
• 3 cups powdered sugar
• 1 tablespoon vanilla
• 2-3 tablespoons milk

Directions

• Sift dry ingredients together, set aside.
• In a large bowl, cream together shortening and sugar.
• Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
• Add yogurt, mix well.
• Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined. The dough shouldnt be sticky to touch.
• Lightly flour a surface that you can roll the dough out on.
• Roll it out about 1/4 inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
• Place cookies on a greased or lined sheet pan and bake at 350 degrees F for about 10 minutes.
• When the cookies are done, they should be light and dry in color, barely browned on the bottom.
• Mix powdered sugar and vanilla.
• Add milk 1 tablespoon at a time until icing reaches desired thickness.
• Divide and color icing as desired.
