Chocolate Pudding Pie

Ingredients

• 1 frozen deep dish pie crust
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 6 tablespoons cornstarch
• 6 tablespoons cocoa
• 6 cups whole milk (no substitutions)
• whipped cream and chocolate shavings, for garnish

Directions

• Prepare the frozen pie crust according to package instructions.  You’re simply baking it to prepare it for the filling.  Allow to cool completely. In a large saucepan, whisk together sugar, cornstarch and cocoa.  Whisk in milk and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens and begins to boil. Let mixture cool for 3-5 minutes and then pour into prepared pie crust.  Allow to cool at room temperature for one hour and then transfer to refrigerator to cool completely. Prior to serving, top pie with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings.
