Cranberry Cherry Bourbon Vanilla Sauce

  • 2 cups Cherries
  • 3 cup Cranberries, whole

• Baking & Spices

  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla extract

  • 1 cup Apple juice, unsweetened

• Beer, Wine & Liquor

  • 3 tbsp Bourbon

Description

Ingredients

• 3 cup, whole cranberries (12 oz. bag)
• 2 cups cherries, pitted (I used frozen)
• 1 cup apple juice, unsweetened
• ⅓ cup granulated sugar
• 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
• 3 tbsp. bourbon

Directions

• In a medium sauce pan add cranberries, cherries, apple juice and sugar. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and simmer for 10 - 12 minutes, until the cranberries pop and the sauce thickens up. Be sure to stir occasionally.
• Take off the burner and stir in vanilla extract, then stir in bourbon.
• Let the sauce cool to room temperature and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
• Can be made for up to 3 days in advance.
