French toast casserole

Ingredients

• 8-10 cups of bread, cubed (10-12 whole slices)
• 6 eggs
• 1-1/2 cups half and half (or use milk)
• ¼ cup white sugar
• 1 tablespoon vanilla
• 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
• ¼ cup butter, melted
• ½ cup brown sugar

Directions

• Preheat oven to 375 and generously grease a 9x13 baking pan with cooking spray.
• Pour cubed bread into prepared pan.
• Use the same bread measuring bowl and add eggs, half and half, white sugar, vanilla and ground cinnamon. Whisk until mixed well. Pour mixture slowly over bread.
• In a small bowl, melt butter and add brown sugar. Stir and spoon over bread. This is the most awkward step! Just do a little dollop here and there on the top of the dish.
• Bake for 20-30 minutes or until knife stuck in the center comes out clean.
