Description

A delicious chicken dry treat loaded with flavor , marinated in a green masala paste made of coriander ,mint and curry leaves and cooked using coconut oil to infuse the Kerala style flavor in it. I baked them when i made first time on Noufal's birthday and everyone loved it .Made this chicken green fry several times after that and became one among my families favorite dish. The marinade is really simple to make and chicken tastes delish .It goes well with rice , rotis and chapattis.

Being passionate about cooking i always love to cook , try new recipes and really wanted to try my hands on for cooking competitions. But unfortunately , i am one among them who cant cook in-front of anyone, needs a silent and peaceful atmosphere to cook, who really gets tensed and hands shiver  if someone watch while cooking. So was waiting for some events which i can cook ahead and exhibit them on the venue that i dont have to worry about on the spot cooking. Then came the "Our Menu Item Contest" by the restaurant AriORotti, located in Madina Mall Dubai. Its like reading my mind that they conducted this contest  to  prepare some dish and  take them  to their restaurant for participating in the contest and the selected winners  dish will be included in their menu with the winners name added along with the dish.

I came to know about this contest just a day before the last date, so decided to make this Green Chicken Tawa Fry version to participate in the contest. There were many other wonderful and tasty dishes plated for competition . They gave all the participants a chance to taste each and every dish exhibited there . I am sure that it was really difficult for the judges to choose the winner as all the dishes tasted fab.  I dont know what happend,  maybe overexcited about the contest , i overcooked the chicken that it turned hard.Even though i couldn't win the contest, felt really happy and motivated when  judges appreciated for the taste of masala coated in my chicken fry.

This chicken dish is prepared using a green marinade which gives them a different taste and flavor . Since all green leaves is added , it is really healthy ,flavorful and gives a different taste punch. You can make an even healthier version by baking or grilling them in oven.when I made it first I oven baked them and also tried the deep fried and tawa fried version . It's up to you to decide the way of cooking the chicken which depends on how health conscious and taste conscious you are. But make sure you marinate the chicken either overnight or atleast 2-3hours , that all the flavors get well blended in the chicken and also the chicken will become softer.

I got the recipe for this dish from a cooking blog "Kothiyavunnu" which is one among the cooking blogs that i always trust for the recipe, as taste is guaranteed and also explains the method very well . I have also tried other dishes from their blog and all turned well. I made a few alterations in the original recipe and came up with my version of green chicken. So check out and fry your green ones.
