Ingredients

• Ginger Syrup:
• ¼ cup fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
• 1 cup sugar
• Cocktail:
• 4 oz. citrus vodka
• ½ oz. ginger simple syrup
• ½ pear, cored and chopped
• lemon wedge
• ginger ale

Directions

• To make ginger syrup: Combine ginger, sugar, and 1 cup of water in small saucepan. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool. Strain out ginger and store syrup in airtight container in refrigerator until ready to use.
• To make cocktails: Divide chopped pear between 2 glasses and muddle. Add vodka, ginger simple syrup, and fill glass with ice. Squeeze lemon juice in and float ginger ale on top.
