Description

This Rice Krispie Treat Turkey is a super-fun dessert option for both kids and adults! I could not believe how quick and easy it was to make- everyone LOVED it!

Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp. of butter
  • 8 cups of mini marshmallows
  • 12 cups of Rice Krispies Cereal
  • Reeses Pieces or whatever stuffingyou want

Directions

  • Lay out a large piece of foil with the non-stick side up next to your serving platter.
  • Cover your cup with foil and make sure the non-stick side is up on that as well. Spray it well with cooking spray.
  • Melt your butter over medium heat.
  • Spray a mixing spoon with cooking spray and stir in the marshmallows until theyve melted. Remove the pan from the heat.
  • Add your Rice Krispies and stir until well combined.
  • Pour this mixture onto the piece of non-stick foil and allow it to cool for a moment or two (you dont want it to cool completely, just slightly so that you dont burn yourself).
  • While it cools, wash and dry your hands and spray them with cooking spray. Youll want to work fast because the Rice Krispie Treat mixture is much easier to work with while its still hot.
  • Divide your Rice Krispie Treat mixture so that you have 2/3 of it to make the body and set 1/3 of it to the side which youll use to make the wings and drumsticks.
  • Starting with the body portion of the Rice Krispie Treat mixture, take a small amount of it and create a base about an inch thick on your serving platter.
  • Place your cup on its side onto the base so that open part of the cup is slightly off of the base where you want the turkeys opening to be. The majority of your cup is laying on the base.
  • Build the rest of Rice Krispie Treat mixture around the cup to create the turkeys body with the cup in its cavity (once this is set youll be able to pull the cup out and stuff it with candy). You dont want to mixture around the cavity to be too thin, so make sure you keep that in mind as you shape it. Be sure to press the mixture in well so that its not loose when it dries.
  • Next, take the other 1/3 of your Rice Krispie Treat mixture and divide it into four parts. Use each part to mold your drumsticks and wings and set them aside (I kept these on a piece of foil, next to the body on your serving platter). Once again, make sure you press them into shape tightly.
  • Cover everything with foil with the nonstick side on the turkey and allow it to rest and harden a bit for at least an hour or two (overnight is preferable).
  • You can make the bone end of the drumsticks by taking strips of white paper, folding them in half length-wise. Cut half way up along the fold every half inch or so. You can wrap this around the ends of drumsticks (I secured it with a bit of clear tape).
  • Use toothpicks to carefully secure your drums and wings to the turkey. This can be a bit tricky and youll need to rig it up indepot certain spots depending on your drumsticks and gravity.
  • Stuff the turkey with the candy of your choice. I used Reeses Pieces.
  • Serve immediately or cover with non-stick foil until youre ready to serve.
  • Enjoy!
