Simple Homemade Caramels

  • 1 can Evaporated milk

  • 1 cup Corn syrup, light

  • 2 cups Brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp Sea salt
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract

  • 1 pint Heavy whipping cream

Ingredients

• 1 cup melted butter
• 2 cups packed brown sugar
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup light corn syrup
• 1 can evaporated milk
• 1 pint heavy whipping cream
• 2 teaspoons sea salt
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

• Melt butter in large pot. Add sugars and corn syrup, stirring until combined. Add whipping cream and evaporated milk, stirring until combined. Add vanilla and sea salt. Stir. Bring mixture up to 247-250 degrees Fahrenheit, stirring every couple of minutes. Pour into parchment-lined pan. Cool on counter for 15 minutes, then in fridge for 10 minutes. Slice while firm but still pliable.
