Sparkling Cranberry Vanilla Old-Fashioned

  • 3 dashes Vanilla bitters such as crude attawanhood vanilla bitters
  • 2 oz Whiskey or bourbon

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cup sugar, divided
• 1/2 cup water
• 12 ounces cranberries
• 3 sugared cranberries, plus more for garnish
• 1 1-inch piece lemon zest
• 3 dashes vanilla bitters such as Crude Attawanhood Vanilla Bitters
• ice
• 2 ounces whiskey or bourbon
• 1/2 ounce cranberry juice
• 2 ounces Cranberry DRY Sparkling

Directions

• Make the sugared cranberries. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water. Stir until sugar has dissolved, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in cranberries to thoroughly coat. Use a slotted spoon to transfer to a wire rack; allow to cool and dry for 1 hour.
• In a mixing bowl, stir together 1 cup sugar and cranberries until well-coated.
• In a rocks glass, muddle sugared cranberries, lemon zest and bitters. Top with ice and top with whiskey, cranberry juice and Cranberry DRY Sparkling . Serve with candied cranberries for garnish.
