Description

It was on a visit to my husbands relatives in Belgium that I was given this waffle recipe. Back in the U.S., I served the waffles to his Belgian-born grandmother. She said they tasted just like home. Our grandkids love these waffles with any kind of topping: blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, fried apples, powdered sugar or whipped topping. —Rose Delemeester, St. Charles, Michigan

These were perfect. Our children loved them and they cooked so nicely! There were no left overs! Here is our full review http://www.nickandalonakitchen.com/2017/01/belgian-waffles.html

Very good recipe. Next time I will cut back on the sugar. Just a little too sweet.

I have used this recipe many times and my waffles have turned out fluffy and delicious. I admit, I use a little less butter and sugar than called for to lessen the richness, but have loved the results every time. I also agree with Karen, no need to be so harsh...feedback to help others attain perfect results for their efforts is great, but beating up the creator of the recipe is just mean.

This recipe is great! I was intrigued because of the wide range of reviews, but I had no problems at all. Tasted great, no mess, a winner. I am always amazed at how being able to leave reviews anonymously makes some people so mean. If you dont like a recipe, so be it. Other people did, maybe you did something wrong. Or maybe its just not your taste. Or you changed the recipe. Or maybe you are used to boxed and frozen waffles. But be polite. State what went wrong, and why you did not like it. Review fairly. And most of all, prepare the recipe as written.

WHAT A HORRIBLE WASTE OF INGREDIENTS AND TIME. DONT EVEN MAKE BECAUSE YOU WILL WASTE 2 WHOLE CUPS OF FLOUR AND A WHOLE CUP OF BUTTER. SO UPSET, THANK YOU FOR SUCH A HORRIBLE RECIPE. SOME OF YOU ALL MAY NOT BE BROKE BUT I AM AND I DONT HAVE MONEY TO JUST THROW AWAY LIKE THIS, UGH.

I made this recipe and they came out great... Then a few hours later I opened the microwave and the butter I was melting was still in there. Oops! I used white whole wheat flour and accidently omitted a whole cup of butter so I guess I was being health conscious. Honestly, couldnt tell anything was missing. They came out really well and fluffed up nicely.

If the idea of a cloying, rotten-egg-smelling, grease-covered waffle sounds nice to you, then you might enjoy these. But I am not that kind of person. TOO MUCH SUGAR & BUTTER! You try and convince yourself that they will taste nice (because they look good), but upon biting into them, an immediate sense of regret floods body, as you try not to dry heave too heavily. These are perfect if you are looking for a torture instrument, but rubbish if you dont want to spend the night in a semi-comatose, nauseous state with a bowl to your side (just in case).

Absolutely Horrible. Followed the recipe exactly and had to throw everything out. So soggy and heavy I couldnt lift them out of the waffle maker. Oily Belly bombs!

I wanted to make waffles for my husband but we didnt have enough of his favorite boxed recipe so I looked one up on my phone. It brought me to this recipe and WOW is all we can say. So sweet, fluffy and so easy to make. My husband even helped by learning how to beat egg whites . Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe, we will be making these from now on!

LKMG, I can tell you for sure that you put to much batter in the griddle and turning off the griddle was part of the mess, you needed to just let the waffle cook, and you can always spray your waffle maker on the inside and outside for easier clean up and put it on a cutting board if your concerned about overflow. Please try again Im sure you will love these waffles as I have made this same recipe for 20 plus years. I lost my recipe and this one is as close to my favorite lost recipe as I could find.
