Description

Ingredients

• 1 pound of butter
• 2 1/2 cups sugar
• 1 cup water
• 4 T. Karo syrup
• 1 large Hershey bar
• chopped nuts, whatever kind you like

Directions

• Grate the Hershey bar into a fine powder. Spread half the chopped nuts on a cookie sheet and then half of the grated chocolate over the nuts. Heat the butter, sugar, water and Karo in a heavy pan to 285 degrees on your candy thermometer. IT WILL BE VERY HOT!!! DONT GET ANY ON YOUR SKIN!  Just a warning. Pour the candy mixture over the chocolate and nuts.  Dont scrape the sides of the pan.  Just use what poured out. Sprinkle the rest of the grated chocolate and then the chopped nuts over the hot candy. Set in a cool dry place until it hardens. Use a butter knife and crack the toffee into pieces.  Enjoy!
