    • 1 Pizza dough, store-bought
    • 1/2 tbsp Red pepper

    • 8 slices Mozzarella cheese
    • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
    • 8 slices Provolone cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 white onion, minced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • ½ tablespoon dried basil
  • ½ tablespoon crushed red pepper
  • ½ tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 28oz of diced tomatoes
  • 6oz tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 12 whole crimini mushrooms, stems removed
  • 8 slices of provolone cheese
  • 8 slices of mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded asiago cheese
  • store-bought pizza dough

Directions

  • preheat your oven to 350º
  • add the olive oil to a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • once the oil is shimmering, add the ground beef + brown.
  • once the meat has browned, remove to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain.
  • add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pot. add in the onion + garlic. cook until the onion is translucent.
  • once the onion is translucent, add the seasonings, tomato paste + the cooked ground beef into the pot. stir to coat.
  • next, add the red wine, diced tomatoes + honey to the ground beef mixture.
  • once everything is combined, add the whole mushrooms + let the sauce simmer on low heat while you prepare the pot pie ramekins.
  • using olive oil {about a teaspoon per dish}, oil the inside + rims of your ramekins.
  • then fit the provolone slices into the ramekins. you want to push the cheese to mirror the shape of the ramekin, covering the bottom + sides.
  • repeat with the mozzarella slices, covering any area you may have missed with the provolone. it is okay to break the slices into strips, if needed! then sprinkle in the asiago cheese on the bottom of the ramekin.
  • roll out your pizza dough! find a bowl or cup that has a slightly larger opening than your ramekins + place upside down onto your rolled out dough. using a paring knife, trace around the edges to cut out a circle of the dough. set the circles aside.
  • now, spoon your meat sauce into the ramekins -on top of the cheese- filling to just below the rim of the ramekin.
  • lay the pizza dough circle over the top of the ramekin + fold the dough over the sides to enclose the sauce.
  • bake for 25 minutes, or until your pizza dough is golden brown.
  • carefully remove the ramekin from the oven + flip the ramekin over -pizza dough side going down- onto a plate/bowl.
  • use a butter knife to loosen the pizza dough from the sides of the ramekin + gently lift the ramekin straight up to ‘drop’ the pizza into the, now, pizza dough crust.
  • enjoy while cheesy + hot!
